For players aged 13 to 17
Your information, explained
This page is for you, not your parents. It explains what Match Ready does with your information, in plain words. The full privacy policy has all the details.
- We use your information to build your training plan and keep you safe. That's it.
- We never sell it, never show you adverts, and never share it with your club, coach or school.
- If you're 13 to 15, a parent or carer has to say yes before your plan starts. They can see a summary, but not your mood answers.
- You can download or delete everything, any time, from the Profile tab.
Who we are
Match Ready is made by ARX Algorithms Ltd, a small UK company. If you've got a question about your information, email [email protected]. You can ask a parent to help if you like.
What we know about you
- About you: your date of birth, your positions, your club nights and games, and how long you've been lifting. If you're under 16, we also ask your height once a month, so we can go easier on jumping while you're growing fast.
- Your training: the sessions you do and how hard they felt.
- How you're feeling: your quick check-ins (sleep, soreness, mood), anything that hurts, if you're ill, and if you might have hurt your head.
Information about your health is extra private, so we only use it if you say yes on a separate screen. You can change your mind.
We don't ask for your weight goals, body fat or calories. We don't use your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
Where it's kept
Your information is stored on your phone. If you have an account (everyone aged 13 to 15 needs one, so your parent can link), a copy is kept safely in our database in London. Period answers and the mood checks during a head injury return never leave your phone.
What your parent or carer can see
If you're 13 to 15, a parent or carer has to agree before your plan starts. That's because young players should have an adult looking out for them when they train. You'll always see who's linked on the Profile tab.
| Your parent CAN see | Your parent CAN'T see |
|---|---|
| Your week (session days and games) | Your mood answers |
| Sessions you've done and how long they took | Your period answers |
| Your weekly hours of sport | Your notes |
| Green, amber or red days | Your weights and reps |
| If you report a head injury, an injury that needs a doctor, or illness |
If you're 16 or 17, we'll ask for a parent or carer's email so we can tell them you're using Match Ready. They won't see anything unless you switch it on. If you can't involve a parent or carer, that's OK, and you don't have to tell us why.
If you're struggling
If you tell the app you're feeling really low or might hurt yourself, it shows you people who can help straight away. We don't tell your parent. Nobody at Match Ready reads your answers, so please talk to someone:
- Childline: 0800 1111 (free, any time), or childline.org.uk
- Shout: text 85258
- Samaritans: 116 123
- NHS 111, option 2 for mental health. If you're in danger right now, call 999.
What we never do
- Sell your information or use it for adverts.
- Rank you against other players or show you leaderboards.
- Share anything with your club, coach or school.
- Send you messages from other people. There's no chat in the app.
Your rights
- See it: download your information from the Profile tab.
- Fix it: change most things in the app, or email us.
- Delete it: Profile tab, then "Delete account and data". It's gone from our database straight away, and from backups within 30 days.
- Complain: tell us first. If you're still not happy, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
When you turn 18
Your parent's link ends automatically, they can't see your summary any more, and you move on to the adult version.
